12 September 2009 – Opening Film – Six Degrees
Norwich Arts Centre, 2pm

First Step Films is a new, annual, filmmaking challenge. Aimed at young filmmakers trying to get their first taste of the industry, FSF gives people the chance to work on a feature length film and get it shown up on the big screen. This year FSF have a film with six chapters, and each chapter has been made independently by six different crews from Norwich, all with no budget. 2009 is the first year of the Norwich Film Festival. Set up by local filmmakers who wanted to showcase their work, FSF are committed to delivering the very best of independent film to a wider audience.

”We are one of the newest festivals around and we want to inspire filmmakers both locally and globally to be creative and produce high quality films which we can then help bring to the public. We also want to highlight Norwich as a hotspot for UK talent, so there will always be room for local filmmakers on our bill.”
